Out here in the Arizona desert we have tarantula hawks — very large wasp-like creatures that scurry along the ground looking for tarantula burrows. Once found, it darts down the hole, stings the poor tarantula and lays a clutch of eggs in its juicy torso. The tarantula hawk is alleged to have the most painful sting of all North American insects.

If I recall, they did a show on that insect too

One show that stands out to me was on the “toe-biter” water insect- I can’t count how many times I’ve waded in streams barefoot- after seeing that segment though, I think I’ll keep my shoes on lol
