The photo below was the "new" coliseum built for the "new" Hornets NBA team. Away from the city, easy to get to, plenty of parking, easy to get out of...a little light on skyboxes, but a beautiful arena. At the time it was built, it was the largest NBA arena. George Shinn later abandoned Charlotte and took the Hornets to New Orleans. Bob Johnson brought an expansion team to Charlotte (Bobcats, eventually to be renamed to Hornets). Charlotte citizens voted down a referendum for a new downtown arena...but the city, ignoring the citizens desires, built it anyway...for the "First African-American NBA Team Owner". Couple years later...the "new" Coliseum was imploded.

I now hate all of that crap.

That was the problem. Should have renovated it to included more skyboxes.
