Yes. In California, I understand we pay double what people in any other state pay - this is b/c of the governor’s idiotic “green” initiatives, power plants being decommissioned, climate change initiatives, carbon neutral programs etc. As if all air pollution comes from California - and not from China or India, WE get air pollution from China but I guess that is OK.

My bill has gone up regularly and consistently for the past several years with no end in sight. A new gas tax is set to take effect on July 1st, gas is already $5.00/gallon in this state, some places, over $6.00/gallon

Our aging grid is also way overextended and needs upgrading and replacing - why I get notices during heat waves not to run large appliances or plug in EVs. b/c the system is “at capacity” - “heat waves” here mean temps of 100+ often for days on end - we are told, of course, to turn down our a/c to 78 degrees - too high a temp for my elderly relatives.

Then there is also the “new” pricing for untilities based on one’s income, which the California gov is trying to implement. Anyone with an income will be taxed all to h***.

Why I always say: Love my state. Hate its government.

The problem in California are the ripoff rates from PG&E, SCE and SDGE. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ˜’ Especially PG&E.

If you are paying PG&E’s rate, you are paying 42 cents per kwh. Here in eastern WA I am paying 8 cents per kwh. Lots of reasons for those differences.

Here in Nevada County, California, depending on the time of day, the rate varies from $.47 to $.51 per kWh.
