Most Indians come here on tech job visas. They’re in the good paying jobs (albeit underpaid compared to prevailing rates), and as they move up, they hire their own.
There aren’t many Indians who come here for crappy jobs. Those are easier taken by blacks, whites, Hispanics, anyone who doesn’t need a visa sponsor.
So with almost zero Indians in poor jobs bringing the average down, of course they’re gonna be at/near the top of the list in average salary. I guarantee if you look only at Indian Indians in those same jobs in their country, that limited average will also be waaaay higher than their overall national average.
I’d bet, except for Mexicans/high-illegal rate countries, most groups of foreigners will have a higher average than the national average. They simply don’t have the quantity of poor to bring the average down significantly.
