I was startled by his appearance and looked up his D.O.B.
December 1938 - he was almost three years old when Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese.
His father was a professional golfer.
One of his brothers, stage name Chip Taylor, was a singer who wrote "Wild Thing" and "Angel of the Morning."

From an interview I heard with him, he said his father was a caddy, or a groundsman, at an elite golf club. The members were mostly Jewish and treated Jon and his father wonderfully. He said that’s why he has such a love for Israel.
