Oh, they’ll not only get Biden in a 50 state sweep and probably 80+% of the vote, they will also get unprecedented Democrat super-majorities in both houses of Congress and in at least 40 state’s legislatures. MAGA will stay home or write in candidates. If Trump isn’t at the top of the ticket I’m not voting at all…for anyone. I bet there are many millions who are like me.
If the GOP tries to pull that off it would be the death of the Republican Party.
Importantly, someone most of us know around here has presciently axed, "What happens when the government freehsit cards stop working?"
HOw can we get this idea out to the convention organizers? Isn’t it people like Jordan and McConnell and others? They could do this very quickly.
This convention is only ceremonial. Trump is the runaway nominee, so why wait to making it official?
A general strike among the masses, as opposed to march or protest gathering to prevent nefarious actors from creating another Jan 6 fedsurrection event.
I agree that a general strike is the best and most effective means of revolution. Also morally superior to destruction, mayhem and bloodshed. It also requires a tremendous amount of organization plus, people must be willing to take what might be severe personal economic consequences. The regime will be nasty in opposition, demanding employers - who to a large extent the regime currently controls, to punish those taking part in it. The American Regime is ruthless, and would be more than happy to destroy millions of its own people.
It is a great means of bringing a Regime to its knees, but it is difficult to pull off, expensive to organize properly and not without massive, severe personal consequences.
You don’t need to have Trump at the convention to declare him the nominee. If he’s in jail, that will underscore the Dems treason and bring a lot of pressure on the Supreme Court to reverse the verdict before the election.
Why don’t they just hold a virtual nomination like the DNC is planning for Biden?
Indeed. If the democrats are going to just “call it in” to get their child sniffer on the ballot then the GOP should just declare Trump the candidate too.
And remember in 2020 during covid ,both political parties had virtual conventions, and not real live conventions.
So they could easily do this as suggested and nominate Trump early.
Indeed, the Democrats are actually doing that, officially nominating Biden before the convention, so that Biden can be on the ballot in Ohio to meet the deadline for being on the Ohio presidential ballot.
Why? It won’t change anything, the Republicans should wait and do it as planned at the convention with all the pomp and circumstances that that entails.
Trump’s daughter now runs the RNC. It is a Trump organization, so there’s no impediment from that perspective on them doing this, I just don’t see the urgency. Definitely don’t see the cries of it still being run by the GOPE, it’s not

The SCOTUS will not take it up, until Trump is the candidate, and Marchan will order Trump to serve jail time, because he’s not the candidate.
Once he’s the official candidate, if Marchan goes forward and tries to put him jail, it comes out as a clear political ruling.
It is very urgent, IMO
