I hated it, but some loved the Subaru Brat. And what about the Chevy Luv?
I loved the LUV.
Learned to drive in one.
Knew a guy who had a 4 WD version.
One of my dad’s friends drove his until a couple of years ago. It looked really beat up but the guy was a mechanical genius and kept it rolling for decades.
It was like the one I drove.
A buddy had a Chevy Luv, it was kind of bad at everything.
We had a Chevy Luv around 1979-1982. It was the poor person’s answer to a “new truck”. LOL
chevy luv has my vote as one of the worst- The old datsun trucks were ok- not real rugged, but they seemed to go and og and go-
I drove a Chevy LUV as a teenager, it was the shop truck for a motorcycle dealer I worked at in the mid-70s. It was a useful high-gas-mileage utility vehicle in the time right after the OPEC oil shocks. The class of vehicle has been killed in the US by import regulations.
The LUV was a respectable little pickup truck.
78 Brat was the best snow vehicle I’ve ever owned. It would push through snow over the hood.
Head gasket durability...not so much.
When I was selling it, a big guy came to test drive it...again, not so much.
Good memories.
