My child is one of the .001% of the population with an incurable congenital endocrine defect that can result in gender dysphoria. Unlike the 87 pronoun and 105 gender crowd, my kid is truly trans and wouldn’t wish it on their worst enemy.
It took years to be confirmed and we consulted with experts as far away as Canada. My kid didn’t wake up one day with Special Snowflake syndrome; it was years of labs, therapists, Endocrinologists, etc. She didn’t require outside hormones to masculinize during puberty; her body was doing it on its own.
Under the protocols established by Dr. Kenneth Zucker, the world’s leading expert on this issue, a team approach is required. The radical activists tossed bogus allegations at him and ran him out of his own clinic (he later prevailed in court).
Once he was out of the way, the affirmation protocols were implemented. Gone were the labs to determine if there was an underlying medical condition. Gone was the two years of extensive therapy to confirm continual dysphoria. Gone were the safeguards against messing with children.
All someone had to do is claim to be trans and viola! Puberty blockers and hormones for you!
There is NEVER a legitimate medical reason to transition a child unless that child is a hermaphrodite requiring corrective surgery.
