Man is the apex predator.
I was listening to a talk by Bill Whittle, and in it, he asked his audience a number of questions:
“What is the fastest animal on Earth?” he asked. Someone shouted out “A Cheetah!”
“What is the highest flying creature?” A voice said “Turkey Vulture”
“What is the deepest diving creature?” Another person said “The Sperm Whale”
“What animal can survive the hottest temperatures?” “The Dromedary Camel”
“What animal can survive the coldest temperatures?” “The Emperor Penguin”.
This went on for a few more questions and answers, and finally Bill Whittle said:
“You’re all wrong. The answer to all of those questions is ‘Man’. We are the fastest, highest flying, deepest diving, most able to survive the hottest hot and the coldest cold, and it isn’t even close.”
Really made the point, did Bill Whittle!
