At last, we can see Alvin Bragg's underlying criminal theory: he doesn't have one. Bragg and Judge Merchan are running the real trial in the court of public opinion, not to deliver justice but to hurt Trump's presidential campaign by branding him a convicted felon during the election. They seek to do this by lying to the jury -- for example, by pretending to have a criminal theory.
The prosecution rested their case without specifying the second crime, nor giving a shred of evidence for the first: even if we took Michael Cohen's testimony at face value, ignoring that he's a serial perjurer who confessed to six different felonies on Monday morning alone, his claim that Trump himself ordered the monthly payments that were calculated from Cohen's loan reimbursement demand and deemed them “legal fees” would not constitute a crime.
That case is dead in the water on appeal, but Merchan's parallel trial, which has little to do with established law and instead runs on innuendo and vagaries, aims for a temporary conviction. In it, Cohen and David Pecker explain election law to a rigged jury while Merchan allows the prosecution to dazzle them with inadmissible evidence and irrelevant, noncriminal details couched in nefarious-sounding terms like “hush money” and “catch and kill,” all the while keeping crucial information like Cohen's SDNY charges and Brad Smith's expert testimony on actual election law from reaching the jury.
Merchan reneged on his promise to release the jury instructions by Thursday night, apparently to prevent lawyers from picking apart his instructions so jury members don't find out how preposterous they are, because they're going to read the news and talk to friends, family, and co-workers in the week Merchan gave them off.
That's why he gave them the week off.

I believe this is an accurate assessment. The jury will find Trump guilty no matter what so Fake Tapper and the other media readers can say he’s a convicted felon.
The defense should address this in their closing arguments.
However, the Democrats are desperate for an opportunity to be able to brand Trump as a "convicted felon" for the election campaign. They even have the puppet president primed for a nationwide speech in which he will sadly shake his head at the prospect of a felon president and try to shame the voters into voting Democrat instead.
The NYC jury is in a tough spot. They know that if they do not vote to convict, they will return to a living hell at home. Trump hating family and friends will desert them and others will shun them in the streets or even vandalize their homes. It would take an incredibly strong juror to stand up and do the right thing in this situation. And from what I'm hearing, the corrupt judge will allow a guilty verdict to stand even if the jury is not unaminous, due to this being a state trial in which the rules can be changed. So we will need at least six strong jurors to stand up to this nonsense, which is extremely unlikely.
So the totally corrupt state of New York will likely get their show conviction. Not that it will matter in the long run as it will surely be overturned, but not until after the election is all over with.
The losers trying to persecute president Trump are failing miserably in their attempts to tarnish him. All they are doing is making more people vote for him. It must be frustrating to be so weak and inept. They are eunuchs, not men.

By all rights, the defense should demand that a crime be ide tidied, or the case dismissed- the prosecution and judge and ilk should not be allowed to keep throwing spaghetti agaisnt the wall to “see what will stick”, and if the prosecution can’t name a legitimate crime, they should be tried for prosecutorial misconduct and election interference at this point!
How can anyone think an appeal is a slam dunk in favor of Trump? Isn’t every other court in NY just as crooked and biases as this one now?

This needs to be a lesson for us regarding what they will do if he is elected. The radical Left (i.e., the Democrat Party) will rain down hell upon us. Cities will burn and blood will flow in the streets.
Of course, cities have already burned and blood might be a step up from the feces that is currently flowing in Democrat-controlled city streets.
New York courts, by acting on personal feelings and political direction, are ruining the legal system. Trump is test number one, and if they can take him down, nobody is safe. The state will soon be in absolute control and a model for other states to follow. On the other hand, freer states will rule in the opposite direction in an effort to cancel out the government control states. This difference of opinions will ultimately end up in the Supreme Court with a decision that will not please everyone, perhaps leading to another Civil War. My point is that the legal actions of a rogue state must be stopped or the unintended consequences might be far worse than envisioned or planned.
It would be easier to hire some poor schmuck to take Trump out.

All he has to do is sentence DJT to 6 months and DJT’s campaign is over. 9 months and he’s still be in prison in January. How long an appeal will take, and whether it will be for or against DJT, no one can say with certainty.
