Grrrrrrrr! So many wrong. Veterans appreciate being appreciated. Armed Forces day for those serving. Memorial day for those that died in service to the country. Veterans day for veterans. Not that hard. But, funny kitten videos on tiktok.
We all wrote blank checks to the powers that be.

To: rktman; alternatives?

Yes, there are explicit differences between the several holidays, I’m not suggesting we ignore that. What I am saying is shame on anyone who disrespects a veteran on any of these days. Period. Whether on a veteran-related holiday, on Independence Day, or on any day of the year. Respect veterans, all of them.

Memorial Day started out as Decoration Day, after the Civil War. Veterans Day started out as Armistice Day, to celebrate the end of shooting in the War To End All Wars. Both are now Federal holidays, which means "federal employees get paid to stay home day". Probably not the original intent.

At least Armed Forces Day is not a paid day off, as far as I know.

Every day without war is a day to thank veterans.
