Actually they’re doing well. Netherlands had a recent election and the new (president? whatever they have) is anti-migrants and pro-farming, and Geert Wilder also won his position, whatever it was, and he’s a firebrand. I may have posted about it.
Yes, at least for now they have bit the bullet. They appear to have done it with a massive popular uprising of civil disobedience and determination. They came together as 'one' - e pluribus unum❗
