I can’t remember a time when the patient had to do all of that... the ‘new’ medicine I guess.
~!~
the ‘new medicine’ sucks! I’m amazed you haven’t been foisted off onto a PA! (although the PAs seem a bit more interested in us...)
:^D I have rarely encountered one and when I have there has been no problem. I suspect the reason is that I may appear to know more than they do. After my first visit to a crohns specialist she concluded the consultation saying she felt like she was talking to another doctor. I am not another doctor but I have learned to be prepared.
I suspect when I see my urologist in two weeks that he might suggest a new surgical procedure called 'aquablation' - so I am studying it. I hope to discuss it - if it comes up - like an informed guinea pig! My hematologist argued for nearly a year that I should take a series of Procrit shots. I argued that my hemoglobin has almost never been below 10 and the drug mfr says not recommended for such cases. He argues his expertise but so far I have prevailed. :^) (I did order the somewhat expensive med just in case things change.)
