Been in hospital all weekend;
What the heck, Bob!!
Hope things are better!
I think I am coming down with a not too rare disease: aging! ;^)
Also the med profession seems to be coming down with head congestion! ...not sinus congestion, brain congestion! The freeways have developed intersections without traffic lights. I don't know how many office consultations and more importantly medical procedures I have had to delay or cancel in the last year because they were scheduled but no insurance approval (referral) was ever obtained. I have learned to call the insurance company and if they have not received a request then I call my PCP office and if they have not received a request then I call the originating med facility and encourage them to write a request and send it - with all the license #s and diagnostic and procedure codes.
Sometimes, like today, I obtain a copy of the original 'referral request' on line, take it to my PCP office and offer it to them. Today they told me not to bother them, they are busy. So I gave it to the doctor and emphasized that the two appointments, now less than two weeks away, are an important part of an on going treatment plan.
I even filed a complaint with the CEO of a major hospital chain here in Orlando - never received a reply. sigh
I can't remember a time when the patient had to do all of that... the 'new' medicine I guess. ( Sorry for the gripe slide.)
