That comes having parents and grandparents with massive vocabularies in multiple languages. We had a huge dictionary near the front door. Growing up, whenever we asked how to spell or what a word means we were told to go look it up. One word always lead to another.

—A huge dictionary? That’s a good start and you got the edge on me. The only book in my Folk’s house was the A volume of a Funk and Wagnalls, which I read, so I know a bunch of “A” stuff. But I was blessed to live about ten blocks from the county library and I could run there in about 3 minutes.. In my grade school years I was there nearly every night they were open. Read nearly every book in the place except for Agatha Christie——she bored me stiff after a book and a half.
