FJB and company tried to start such a program here by wanting to sell all the national parks to private companies/individuals in order to monetize the asset. It didn’t get anywhere but that doesn’t mean they won’t keep trying.

It didn’t get anywhere but that doesn’t mean they won’t keep trying. On a smaller scale there was the Morgan-Stanley privatization of Chicago parking meters, followed by a 4X increase in the cost of parking.
