This isn’t like getting covid creating natural immunity....kind of the opposite actually. Chicken pox leaves the shingles virus dormant in the system.
I got it right before Thanksgiving 2019. Stress can actually bring it on by knocking the immune system out of wack. I think that’s what happened to me. Stressed at work and about to retire at the end of 2019.
You might not think it but preparing to retire is stressful.....was for me anyway.

I got shingles at pretty much the same time you did. I has a burning sensation on my forehead at the hairline. I thought I had burned myself with my curling iron and dismissed it until I woke up one morning with my eyes nearly swollen shut. After seeing my primary Dr.,,he told me to hightail it to my eye Dr. He said I wasn’t in any danger of it moving into me eyes. I got lucky as my bout was pretty mild but it did scab up and left a scar.
