When I first heard this story I was already siding with Scheffler. The utter balderdash coming from the LPD absolutely doesn’t square with who this man is.
Turns out the video proved the LPD LIED and now they’re doubling down on their idiocy.
“We will know the officer’s name in short order, if the charges are not dropped.”
The officer’s name was released many days ago: Detective Bryan Gillis.
Interesting dynamics afoot. Potentially dropping charges against a honkey after “dragging” a black detective will not be well received by the “community”...Interesting indeed.
Also, Scheffler states that a uniformed cop told him to drive exactly where Scheffler drove.
Also, the cop alleging assault was a detective in street clothes - no uniform.
All they can think about is revenge. For personal slights they never actually suffered. Calling them sociopaths is being too good to them.
I loathe FBI leadership. I support DJT defunding it.
However, some of their field offices still do good work. I am a major critic of law enforcement but I’d be remiss if I did not give credit where credit is due.
Thanks for the information.
Obv they should not return to Louisville.
The PGA is run by lawyers, this should not work out well for this woman, provided that they come to his defense.
Oddly, I have not heard a peep from the PGA yet.
Because the PGA is mostly to blame, they should have rushed some officials to the gate to assist players, some of whom trotted miles to get to the club that morning.
I appreciate the explanation.
Apparently, the players drive around similarly dressed security every week.
It’s obv the cop was in the wrong.
That happens a lot but certain folks lead charmed lives and have never mysteriously come across a cop in the wrong.
I know fr previous replies that yourself like myself are not of this charmed existence.
The cop didn’t “stand between us and trouble,” he stupidly grabbed at a moving car then claimed to be in danger (or he made up the whole thing). The cop created the dangerous situation then blamed Scheffler for the danger and it certainly could have led to Scheffler being shot.
Given the support of his Chief and that no other cop on scene would contradict the detective’s lies I would say that behavior is not isolated but rather pervasive in the department.
While she paints with a broad brush I do think MeganC points out a serious flaw in policing procedure.
I agree with your desire for an independent review of this detective’s body cameral. I don’t share your faith in the field offices when the case is charged with Didn’t Earn It political poison. Reasonable people may at times disagree ...
As for the bureau itself ...
IMO ...
It should be utterly reformed from top to bottom. It should be made into a purely investigative organization, tasked with providing assistance to State and local police and Sheriffs and to the US Marshalls Service. It should not have “agents”; its personnel should not be armed, nor should they have power to arrest.
You have to have some respect for a person that wakes up and chooses a single expression for the entire day.
RBF
Exactly, anyone who follows golf knows that this is not the character of the world’s number one golfer. Scottie is a humble Christian who happens to be number one in the world right now. Nothing more, nothing less.
To clarify, although the PGA Championship is played at a different course each year, several courses have hosted the event multiple times — just not back to back. This years course — Valhalla in Louisville — also hosted the event in 2014, 2000, and 1996. I predict that it will never get another invite to host the event.
it was reported he did not have his bodycam on
The LPD issued the claim that Gillis’ bodycam was not on. The LPD is also proceeding with a prosecution of Scheffler based upon a police report that has already been debunked as a lie. They don’t have a ton of credibility at this point.
At the end of this there will be a lawsuit and Gillis will be on the Brady list. At least.
I posted that. (-:
Who is this Coulter [gender appropriate term]? Whatever, I hope there is a better argument than that the argument was made by a deep state clown wearing the Washington Generals jersey.
No more PGA tournaments for Louisville.
