I think Perplexity AI tries to do that. It's developers say that it isn't "trained" (as such) but instead just searches the internet and available data sources for answers to your questions.

If I understand it correctly, Perplexity is trying to dislodge Google search.

Like you, I am looking forward to owning my own AI platform that does what I want it to. Presumably, that is coming.

Perplexity saves me a lot of time, like -

What is the price range for a 1966 289 Mustang?

I could Google or DuckDuck the different car sites, look at the values, note them, and repeat as necessary.

Perplexity does all that fast, with a list of sources.

Good enough for my quick thoughts.

But it is really bad on stuff like George Floyd.
