Sorry, no link as it was just announced on Human Events Jack Posobiec that the Ohio SOS has instructed the Democrat party to announce their candidate by Aug 5th. If they don't, then whoever that candidate is will not be on the ballot
Backdoor attempt to allow other States to not have Trump on the ballot at all.. even write-ins won’t be counted. Sounds out there, but democrats will cheat any way possible. Primaries will be nullified, dem state legislators will supply their own electors.
These are laws are about how the government runs itself that only apply to politicians and political parties, not average citizens. Should the Democrats not meet the deadline and fail to put Biden on the ballot, they will sue and try to get a friendly judge to hear the case. If they win and he gets on the ballot, he is on the November ballot despite the law. Democrats will vote for him anyway.
Flaunting political power by breaking laws no one else can break and getting away with it, shows the little people who really has the power and who does not.
Suing will not print enough ballots by Nov 5.

It looks like the repubs, who control both houses, had a not-my-problem attitude. It definitely was stupid to have the date set so early without consideration for convention dates. The law has been in place for awhile but they always got bipartisan waivers through.

The long-established practice is that the party that holds the White House goes second, holding its convention in August. The party of the challenger goes first, generally with a July convention.
In 2020, the Republican convention was second. As a result, Trump was renominated AFTER the Ohio deadline for the ballot. Guess what, the Republicans who control Ohio granted him an exemption. I’m guessing that, this time around, the Democrats assumed the same thing would happen.
As for all the comments about the Dems finding a “friendly” judge: The Ohio law, in practice, is that a candidate nominated after early August gets on the ballot if he’s a Republican but not if he’s a Democrat. That is, frankly, absurd. Any honest judge, regardless of political orientation, would say that Ohio can’t put a thumb on the scales like that.
This goes far beyond the standard complaints about drop boxes and the like. Anyone of either party can use a drop box. Ohio is trying to engage in blatant discrimination, and I predict it will be overturned in court. I further predict that the very attempt will be used by the Democrats to paint the GOP as being against fair elections
I agree its a non issue, I don’t expect for one second that Biden’s name won’t be on the ballot.
Ohio voters will participate in the presidential primary today. President Joe Biden has secured the delegates needed for the Democratic nomination, and former President Donald Trump has secured the delegates needed for the Republican nomination.

Some judge will just say to put “Democrat candidate “ on the ballot and be done with it.
In presidential elections you are not really directly voting for a candidate, you are voting for a slate of electors pledged to that candidate.
