The title is wrong.
Nuland does not suggest the U.S. attack anywhere in Russia.
She suggests the U.S. give Ukraine/insure Ukraine has the means for the attacks she suggests. And what are those places? Well Russia has felt free to cross any line into Ukraine and does so with material and means just the other side of those lines, so why should those Russian positions be off limits to Ukraine, when NOTHING in Ukraine is off limits to Russia?
Nuland is also right. What she suggests is not an “escalation”. It is a response to escalations Putin has already committed.

Attacks inside Russia shouldn’t be the issue, when we held up arms to be used inside Ukraine for 6 months.
And Ukraine still doesn’t have advanced jets from us.
If we’d given them the damn artillery shells, drones and missiles for the last 6 months, we wouldn’t be in this stupid situation.
