And it's all being done locally. Maybe he can tell me how to turn off using OneDrive as the default storage location for files. Every time I turn around it is back as the default storage location and I have to manually select my computer to save files.

Locally is a curse word to Microsoft. I am running Windows 10 Pro. OneDrive is nowhere to be found on my PC. I wish I could recall how I removed or disabled it.
I've been running on a local profile since Day 1. I do not have my PC tied to a Microsoft account, no matter how hard Microsoft tries to trick me into one. Anyone willing to use cloud-based accounts and/or file storage is just asking for trouble, IMHO.
