If someone offered me a pineapple that had gone red, I think I would throw it out.

Perhaps it is a weapons-grade pineapple against which there is no known defense. In which case, one will be competing against the government.

Hmm. Take some cans of those, add a few drops of red food coloring, slap on a premium label, and make a fortune.

I love them. First time I bought them, as a novelty, I thought they had been infused with something. Turns out they have been bred that way.

Yup. Once in a while I’ll buy a whole pineapple, peel and core it, and put it on the grill. Very tasty.

Cotton Candy grapes

They were marked down, so my wife bought some for my daughter. I find that they are merely sweet, no distinctive flavor. As pointless as Ritz Mock Apple Pie.

I’ll have a Stoli Doli at The Capital Grille and declare victory.

“Dole’s in a can is good enough for me.”

We harvest about four a year from our garden. DELICIOUS!

Honeycrisp apples

I favor Envy apples.

But then again I am in Nevada...

Suggest to ‘splurge’ once on a fresh batch as they do taste like cotton candy. Def. not your typical, every-day eater variety, but a nice change (if only once)

Course, one could have the taste-buds of an uncultured swine (’Toy Story’ /s)

Canned pineapple is a poor substitute for pineapple.

Is this the same thing as Japanese paying outrageous prices for Tunas at the fish markets?

One thing I learned from traveling a lot for school, work and fun is there is an entire world of delicious fruits that are common in other countries but which are practically unknown in the US. I've sought out a bunch and some of the "exotic" fruit I would recommend are:

Rambutan

Longan

Cherimoya

lychee

Tiger Figs

Kiwi berries (they're small and green)

Feijoa

Soursop

Dragonfruit

Starfruit

Golden Kiwi (golden interior and totally different taste from standard Kiwis).

Those are just a few. There are many more.
