I’ll explore further. I understand the modern drones can fly for many miles. What a hoot that would be, no FAA license required!

DJI drones are the most popular, flying with the first person view is certainly very cool, drones if used commercially need a permit, which also (crazy) includes if you post the video that you captured to the internet;ie: YouTube.
It doesn’t matter what the video was of either, crazy. The permit is very easy to get, you are really just registering your specific drone with the FAA.
If the drone weighs less than 255 grams no registration required. Some really nice and extremely capable drones fall into that category. I would start your research with DJI first to get up to speed. Good luck
