He was uplifting the things that are part of the foundation of a normal and healthy society: respect for life at all of its stages, the obviously different, complementary, and equally-important roles played by the sexes, and home and family. The Left always uplifts the abnormal and the unhealthy things that corrode and eventually destroy people and society. Always. But, the way things have been going, we are likely to find that out the hard way.

Hw spoke as a Christian humanist, a Catholic espousing Catholic values at a Catholic college. I’ll bet he has read Chesterton. The NFL says he doesn’t speak for them. Enough said.

I’m pretty confident the NFL DEI mope they sent out to make that statement doesn’t have the first inkling of an idea who Chesterton was & what he wrote. Not typically a group of deep thinkers in the DEI crowd.

You might want to rethink that assessment.

The two words of the term are ultimately at war with each other.

Butker’s spiritual life accrues to the glorification of God. He strives for greater and greater humility. Humanism has devolved into naval-gazing and deification of mankind at the expense of the virtue of humility.
