If you see transgender in a sentence along with a pronoun referring to that person, the pronoun is opposite of what the person actually is.

Just replace the word ‘transgender’ with the word ‘fake’ and it all becomes clear:

transgender woman = fake woman = man.
transgender man = fake man = woman.
