I’ve had comments censored on there, really just innocuous observations about the explosion of homeless people in our neighborhoods here in L.A. Nothing combative, just the facts. Censored. Yes, the algorithm is very “woke”.
The site is also very hard to navigate, and at least a third of the posts are about lost dogs or cats, or people selling things.
I have a few stories. Managed to be on there for maybe 5 years, if that.
One of the last ridiculous schadenfreude things I experienced (and I didn’t get in trouble) was when a BLACK couple complained about a strange, likely mental guy following them around our lake trail. They had the temerity to describe him as “Hispanic”.
They were raked over the coals by some idiots for daring to even guess he might be Hispanic, and of course even if they were correct it would be awful! It was OK to say he was insane, or even just homeless, but Hispanic? OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!
I and some other chimed in that there is nothing wrong trying to describe the person for safety’s sake, and if anyone might recognize him and report him to police. This was what the black (victim) woman was defending with, too.
For all I know, this woman and her husband end up banned. (I did not get banned or suspended due to this discussion.)
It’s absurd what people are like around here, and on most Internet places. ND is CA-based, I think SanFran, so there you go.
Almost similar I have another story about a thread over a man soliciting(?) in my mother’s very neighborhood. Hilarious and disgusting how people are talking about others. But they sure don’t like if you talk race!
