“CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will moderate the first 2024 presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump next month,” POLITICO reports.

It's not supposed to be.
Another bad Trump decision. It would have been so easy to not agree to the terms.
Memorized?
Not bloody likely!
3 against 1 ... at least it will be an even fight.
“You’re right. Not only will CNN’s goons feed questions to Biden before the debates, they’ll also limit questions to issues that help Biden: expect lots of abortion and Climate Alarmism crap...”
That’s how the left works. It’s in their playbook.
Why do they keep allowing these left wing democrats to “moderate”
See post #15. "Everyone is smarter than Trump."
Everyone is smarter? bb must think Trump is the stupidest person in any room!
Or he just forgot the </sarcasm> tag.
First of all, if Trump is not prepared then he will lose. What I mean by that is not a grasp of the issues and facts, this debate is going to be ALL ABOUT TECHNIQUE. If Trump prepares as if this will be an actual normal debate of the issues he’s gonna lose. Biden’s strategy will not employ a strong defense of his policies and outcomes, it will be filled with attacks on Trump and “MAGA” to scare voters. Issues will be touched upon but Biden will easily defend positions and move on and if Trump responds incredulously like the rest of us watching he will lose, he needs to expect this. Go back and watch the Paul Ryan debate against Biden and you’ll see a bit of what I am saying.
Trump wants the debate to be 2 hours and standing Biden’s Dr FeelGood can’t keep him juiced up that long unless they take him back stage for a few hot shout evert 1/2 hour.
It’s clear that Trump would look forward to a “debate” with eff-Joe Biden, but what I don’t understand why he accepted the completely ridiculous conditions demanded by those who are actually running the Executive Branch. Why? Why? Why? ...
I took that to be commentary on the post to which bigbob was responding. That post criticized the move but didn’t claim that Trump is stupid.
Donald Trump will debate Jake Tapper, Dana Bash and Joe Biden.
Would be a riot, however, if they have him so juiced up (as with his recent SOTU) that he hollers at Trump and the moderators all night.
The assumption has been that Biden’s handlers put in the mic kill switch to silence Don, but maybe it was to hush Joe!
Fair enough, but let’s ask bigbob and TTFlyer what their intents were.
Wow! I am glad they didn’t pick raging libs.
First debate on June 27, likely to be the same day DJT is being arraigned and sentenced. So JoeB can say he defaulted.
There is no question DJT will be convicted of a crime - no need to state the name of the crime, as the conviction is proof of that a crime was committed. Expect the sentence to be extreme, since there is no named crime, the sentence is whatever the judge decides - likely life.
Could well be!
Biden’s brief video challenge for the debates had so many spliced edits one commentator called it “claymation”. Despite the Biden cheerleaders as moderators, limiting the debate coverage to Trump hating media, no audience, Biden certainly given the questions in advance and a hidden earpiece, Biden will come across as a frail confused octagenarian. I also expect Biden will be debating in a stimulant drug induced rage appearing glassy eyed as he did for the state of the union. Unless Biden appears as an AI generated hologram, he will not do well in these debates
I'm not worried about the debate set-up. Trump will handle it.
Part of the problem with vowing to debate Biden anytime/anywhere even with DNC apparatchiks moderating as Trump offered is that you open yourself up to Biden actually accepting on those terms if he falls far enough behind.
That said, I still don’t think it’s a terrible idea. Tapper and Bash can only help Biden so much, and it would actually be bad for Trump if Biden totally bombs since that means they might trap door him at the convention for a stronger candidate. This move seems like a put up or shut up ultimatum from his donors.
