You can also get hospice care in your own home
That's fine if you own your own home. My second-oldest sister had previously owned homes, but was living in an apartment when she went into hospice care on July 1st, 2011. I lived 2 1/2 hours away, and was staying at her apartment during her illness so I could visit her. I had to clear her apartment out, and be out myself by the end of August when her lease expired. She passed away in the home on September 2nd...her birthday. The nurse administrator told me that there had been instances where people were told they would have to leave the home because they had reach their time limit, and in several cases, the person died the next day. She believed it was because they didn't want to have to leave.
