Ukie soldiers are being ordered to just walk into the meat grinder and die for no rational reason and with no possible benefit to anybody other than the fatcats of the Kiev regime. Surrendering is the only rational option they have. The regime has sealed the borders of the place so that nobody can escape.

That’s silly. France has a long and illustrious military record. In WW1, it outlasted Russia. In WW2, Germany took an area of Russia 2x the size of France, before supply problems caused a pause, giving an avalanche of Allied aid to Russia equal to 2x the current US military budget (as a % of US economic output) time to work its magic. If you transplanted the Russian population to France, and the French population to Russia, the Russians in France would have been overrun, and the French in Russia would have hung tough.
