Because Britain and France wouldn’t allow the Soviets to have Poland, which was their condition for joining them.

It was personal with Stalin. Lenin blamed him for losing Poland in 1920.

Hitler was evil. Of course, we cannot excuse the Holocaust at all.

But the Americans had so much more in common with the German soldiers.

Yet we ended up having the Soviets as our allies.
