“”I feel like we are in the 1970’s again””
I was working at a very busy Safeway Grocery Store in the 1970s, and witnessed the insanity of Jimmy Carter and democRAT policies. While billions (trillions?) of barrels of oil and natural gas are just below our feet, an oil embargo threatened. We could only get gasoline on certain days. Back in those days, there were no scanners in the checkout. EVERYTHING was price marked with a marking gun. The price of everything was soaring, and Safeway actually hired extra staff to keep up with those price changes.
Ronaldus Magnus came along. Those of us in Kalifornia, when it was spelled California, were very familiar with Governor Reagan, and we knew what could be done. President Reagan’s first few years were difficult, but we stayed the course, Americans were inspired, and the Free Market proved once again the best avenue for wealth creation. Reagan and Rush have both stated that what hinders countries and causes more poverty is the unequal distribution of the free enterprise.
Re: restaurant closures. How many of these businesses are in democRAT run areas??
“restaurant closures. How many of these businesses are in democRAT run areas??”
Better yet how many of these business are ran by demoRATS, you know ones like Targay, Butt light? They are losing business and we are just waiting for them to close and go under because they don’t know how to run a business?
Trump was just 3+ years ago. People can remember hopefully. In Carter’s day people thought inflation was inevitable and bought big ticket items earlier than planned knowing the price would rise. It made things worse. Reagan told us otherwise and it’s not like people bought in. It took me until 1984 to believe him. Being younger at the time was a part of the non-thinking.
I’ll guess more than avg are in blue states.
They re-opened later and have in some ways been behind ever since the re-opening.
I remember those days.
Crazy stuff.
