This logjam won't break up until the GOP is destroyed and replaced with a right wing nationalist party that will give patriotic Democrat voters something else to vote for.

They do in my area, (Ohio District 6). They voted for Trump, they voted for Bill Johnson, but down-ballot they still vote Democrat. I'd hazard a guess that my gun club is majority Democrat. (We talk guns and shooting, not politics.) What these folks will NOT vote for is extreme laws prohibiting voluntary termination of pregnancy. Republicans generally had better pat attention to this little factoid, or they will lose again in November.
