Will this one feature Tom Bombadil?
Peter Jackson showed great respect for Tolkien's work. I hope these movies show the same effort but...money.
Keep any woke folk miles and miles away. Please, oh please.
Can Warner Bros afford it ?
Here’s hoping.
I think so.
Hollywood has new standards and quotas today. Every white male character must be race or gender swapped, except for evil or stupid characters which can only be done by white actors. All the strong characters must be dysfunctional women who are feminists. There must be a solid anti-capitalist theme than underlies the main story.
exactly
not gonna watch
I will stick to the earlier version, Viggo Mortenson, Sean Bean....
I figure they are going to bring forth an army of conquering black women lesbians called "Da Homeys" who ravage middle Earth to liberate the orcs and goblins from the tyranny of Minus Tirith.
Fund hawlyweird?? Not me.
All the strong characters must be dysfunctional women who are feminists ... and must be capable of killing battle-hardened male warriors by the handful in seconds.
Amen, Brudderh!
I really loved the Tom Bombadil character in the book - really wish he was in the movie. At least I am not alone!
How about Chris Farley as Tom Bombadil!
You must have missed the the Hobbit films...
His Lord of the Rings series was excellent.
Unfortunately his 3 films on the Hobbit were just as bad as his Lord of the Rings were good.
In the former, he did a good job of deleting certain characters who were superfluous, combining others into one role in a way that made the story more coherent, and generally in being faithful to the books. In the latter, he took what was more of a children’s book and stretched it out into 3 (which was just greedy IMO) AND he made it a precursor to the Lord of the Rings series...WHICH IT WAS NOT if you read the Hobbit. He utterly trashed the story, IMO and he didn’t need to do that. It was a good enough story on its own and could have been made into a single good movie.
Christopher Tolkien was a careful and respectful guardian of his father’s legacy. Now that he’s gone, I assume JRR Tolkien’s heirs are going to cash in every which way they can.
Made 103 million in 2023 after paying bills. Not bad. Not great either.
Warner Brothers korporate management is clearly desperate.
