*The RNC is having theirs in Milwaukee, very much a battleground state. It was a Republican victory in Wisconsin in 2016 that first broke the “Blue Wall” and paved the way for a Trump victory.*

This is why the Democrats are so eager to discard the Electoral College. They control all the big cities so they would easily control the presidency for the forseeable future with the urban votes. Rubes from Kansas be damned!

You missed the point. We don’t WANT our convention in a red city, or a red state.
When the RNC has a convention, thousands of volunteers are mobilized there. They don’t just work on the convention itself. They work on establishing offices and events and voter registration drives throughout the state and region, and not just during convention week, but through the entire election process.
