Spokespeople for the two lawmakers declined to comment on their discussions, but we hear Greene and allied Rep. THOMAS MASSIE (R-Ky.) showed up to the meeting with a list of potential demands. Per folks we spoke to last night, they include the following:
-No further aid for Ukraine;
-A return to the “Hastert Rule,” meaning no legislation is brought to a vote without support from a majority of the House majority;
-Defunding the special counsel probes into DONALD TRUMP in upcoming appropriations; and
-Enforcement of the “Massie Rule,” whereby government funding is automatically cut across the board if no superseding agreement is reached before a set deadline.
Some of these would be easier for Johnson to agree to than others. Since this Congress has effectively cleared the barn, as they say, of controversial, must-do items such as funding the government, raising the debt ceiling and extending surveillance authorities, Johnson can probably stick to the Hastert Rule.
And Democrats agreed to a version of the Massie Rule during last year’s spending talks with KEVIN McCARTHY — so Johnson could probably go there as well. And on Ukraine, Congress just sent Kyiv $60 billion in aid — enough to last through the year by most estimates, though Greene might also want to strike an expected nine-figure aid authorization in the annual Pentagon policy bill that’s expected to move later this year.
Like good to me.
But re “no legislation is brought to a vote without support from a majority of the House majority”: considering all the RINOs who are, most likely, financially benefiting from the Ukraine Money Laundering scheme, could this ever happen?
Probably not for that but other areas like spending and FISA I think the “majority of the majority” would have given it the thumbs down 👎
We dont want those to even come for a vote and be passed by Dems or should I say the deep state affiliated lawmakers!
Well, I guess it’s true about Reagan’s “half a loaf” statement.
Johnson has given up on that rule a few times. It should be set in stone rather than informal...
Also, 3 days to read a bill. Remember that? He’s done away with this a few times (I think)
So you can see why they’re frustrated...
Hell NO
Horses left the barn long ago
Tear down this Uniparty
“So you can see why they’re frustrated”
Absolutely. It’s shameful. “Frustrated” should be “pissed off”.
It’s all show, nothing more, than I expect the Democrats to get what they want.
It takes a spine to do the right thing. Those are removed when the voting starts and then you hear it’s not what we wanted but we had to do something.
Potential? They are either demands or they aren’t.
With a one vote majority, I think MTG must think we have 30 seats. It’d be interesting to see her majority leader and watch her find out it’s not as easy as she thinks.
Considering the Republicans in Washington are like Lucy from the Charlie Brown cartoon, and we are Charlie Brown, they keep pulling the football away just as we are about to kick it.
Until the Republicans actually set rules, follow thru, and hold fast when the media and their donors threaten them, I will not believe any of those proposal have any chance of being enacted.
“-A return to the “Hastert Rule,” meaning no legislation is brought to a vote without support from a majority of the House majority”
That’s like a Kamala word salad to advance leftist agendas. Johnson has proved himself a standing member of the deepstate/GOPe/uniparty/democrats. In spite of a Trump win this fall one wouldn’t be surprised if the rats took over the GOPe house yielding only one-term for these turncoats, only twice in history has this happened. I’m not voting for my ‘conservative’ Rep again after his last three GOPe votes as there is no discernable difference in the parties.
If they are “still talking” about it , nothing of surprise or of any consequence is being said. Style, not substance is the topic.
2. Close the border.
3. Close the border.
Guess what 4 through 10 are.
11. Other stuff
Johnson gives up that rule when it is convenient for the Deep State.
Cut funds that have been appropriated for Israel but denied by the Biden Administration to Israel and shifted to Ukraine. That is clearly fraud and should be dealt with.
We have 10 seats tops, TOTAL! And, I'm not even sure MTG is one of them. Why didn't she pull the vacate trigger a month ago? Is she controlled opp? Every seemingly Patriot eventually gets outed as some component of Deep State swamp - McCarthy, Johnson prime examples.
Truth is District of Corruption is corrupted Absolutely. There are now only two parties:
1. True MAGA/KAG Constitutional small-government republicans, and
2. Deep State Cabal Uniparty Treasonists (including controlled Oppositionistas)
Group 1 about 425, Group 2 about 10 (tops!)
ooops, swap my 1/2 totals. But, you know what I meant...
That’s a good list what do we think Freepers? 👍

never back someone into the corner without leaving them a way out.
Sounds good, but it will tossed at any moment this turncoat SOTH wants!
