Depends on what level you are talking about. The private military company (PMC) is a private company providing armed combat or security services for financial gain. PMCs refer to their personnel as security contractors or private military contractors. So they are nothing more than the current crop of Kelley Girls only they fight wars or insurgencies. But the PMC finds it profitable.
And they are very orgnized. PMCs may use armed force, defined as: “legally established enterprises that make a profit, by either providing services involving the potential exercise of [armed] force in a systematic way and by military means, and/or by the transfer of that potential to clients through training and other practices, such as logistics support, equipment procurement, and intelligence gathering”.
The same thing happened in our history with groups like Pinkerton. This is just on a larger scale and supposedly legal depending on what country one or hundreds are dropped.

What’s to dispute? This type of action has been used for many years. Look at the Alamo. People like Davy Crocket came from Tennessee, and even though Jim Bowie was a Mexican citizen living in Texas at the time of the Alamo, he originally came from Louisiana after Kentucky.
Mercenaries are many times very organized as there are companies that control them. It’s almost like a union.

France just yesterday sent a contingent of 100 foreign legion troops as part of 1500 total. They have yet to reach the front.
German has and refuses to send any troops or long distance Taurus missiles because they do not want a direct confrontation with Russia.
So all in all, its just fake news.
I’m looking at the ww2 European theatre....and applying it to those involved in the Russo-Ukraine war. France was crushed by Germany, and Germany was crushed by everyone else.
From what I understand the Russians are in no hurry if ever to collect their dead until then they are mia, probably listed as deserters so no pay what so ever to families
PMCs are a cast minority of the fighting forces so even if they are more professional, doesn’t help the rest
