While generally occurring near our wedding anniversary, Memorial Day is not one of my favorite holidays.

Memorial day always grabs me, along with D-Day. My father would have gone to the beach, but one week beforehand, in the barracks in England, they needed someone who could type. No one else could. He was 6 feet talk and 120#, 4F until later in the war. He might not have made it.
Without the US military, the US would have been gone a long time ago.
