I have never once advocated for any US tax monies be sent anywhere. In fact, in my mind... It is a Treasonable offense that should be punishable by execution.

As far as SELLING them all the “beans, bullets, and bandages” they can afford... Well, yeah. Capitalism and all that.

As for private militia’s selling their services there? Yes to that as well. We should be encouraging that, actually.

But just rolling over and letting KGB Putin re-assemble the Evil Empire? That will never be a “good idea”.

Thank you for that civil response. It is refreshing to discuss the issue where real discourse can take place.

Of course, re-assembling the “Evil Empire” would be a bad thing.

My take on this is that is an issue of priorities, not like, dislike, distrust, or anything associated with Russia or Ukraine.

I served in the military during the Cold War years cemented my dislike, distrust, and abhorrence for the Soviet Union is unequalled, even if it is a corrupt, tyrannical oligarchy and not a communist state anymore.

I am not a Putinista, Putin-lover, or anything like that. As a matter of fact, if you look at my posting history when people were posting pictures of a bare chested Putin riding a horse or anything along those lines, I found it funny from a ridicule perspective, but I have always (and still do) view him as a despicable KGB thug.

You can take the thug out of the KGB, but you cannot take the KGB out of the thug, and that is how I have always viewed him, and still do. Full stop.

As I said, I view this as an issue of priorities. My issue is that I see our country as being in an existential crisis completely and totally apart from ANYTHING going on between Ukraine and Russia.

Leftists like to use the phrase “existential crisis” to label anything they don’t like, in the same way they label everyone they don’t like as Hitler.

But I don’t think there is a damned single one of them who actually knows what that phrase means, especially since they label Trump and “White Supremacists” as “existential crisis” material. They use that phrase like “racism”, and it when it exits their stinking pie-holes, it means absolutely nothing.

But I DO see what is going on in this country as an existential crisis, and I am not being melodramatic.

We are rolling up massive debt on a level unseen in history, and printing money at a level never even approached in history before. When other entities stop buying our debt because our ability to pay it back is being diminished to the point where we aren’t even paying ANY principal anymore, we are paying such massive amounts of money to service the interest, that we are reaching a point where we won’t be able to pay that back.

People like to scoff and say debt means nothing. Well, it does. And it will when we can’t even get enough money to service the interest on the debt we sell, and that time is approaching with us adding a trillion dollars of debt every 90 days, and no sign that is bothering anyone in power, we are approaching the time when hyperinflation is going to kick in. We are on our way there. And when it does, it will be historic, and we will be finished.

In 1938, we had very high debt-to-GDP ratio, but almost all that debt purchased was held domestically. But that is not the case today.

But the problems with Russia pale in comparison to what we are facing today with unchecked illegal immigration, the absolute bloating of the welfare state, the complete rejection of a real budget process that throws everything into giant slush-buckets of continuing resolutions, the weaponization of our own government against its citizenry in its march to a real police state, and the destruction of the voting process.

So, Russia is a threat. But it pales in comparison to what is going on right here within our borders as a threat to this nation. We don’t have the luxury of ignoring it.

To ignore it and view Russia as a greater threat is the absolute equivalent of coming across an accident victim who is gushing blood from a severed leg, but we decide it is more important to figure out why that person isn’t breathing.

You have one minute to stop that blood gushing from the aorta or the person bleeds out and dies for certain, and if you decide to start poking around in the mouth looking for an obstruction or trying to blow breaths into the mouth before putting a tourniquet on that stump, that person will be dead before you can figure out why they aren’t breathing.

This country is gushing blood from the femoral artery in a severed leg due to all those issues I mentioned above, and Russia is air not getting into the lungs.

We are going to have far bigger problems (and the world will too) if we fail to stop that bleeding stump that is the United States, and pay attention to a border dispute between Ukraine and Russia.

And we are running out of time to stop that bleeding.
