Tanks and columns of troops are massing in Moscow ahead of Russia's annual Victory Day - timed this year to coincide with Vladimir Putin's latest presidential inauguration after another election victory denounced as a 'sham'.

The despot is set for another six years in the Kremlin after emphatically and unsurprisingly winning March's presidential poll, with his new term formally beginning on Tuesday.

Last year's Victory Day parade featured just a single tank, a Second World War-era T-34.

“So, banned on Russia’s net but not banned on YouTube for the rest of the world to see?”

Yes everything on the internet going into Russia is filtered by the state. VPNs are illegal unless registered with the state.

“And, never mind, that RT was banned from operating here. We just passed legislation that will lead to the banning Tik Tok if it isn’t sold.”

RT and TikTok are de facto agents of Russia/China.

US citizens can say what they wish without government restrictions. Private platforms can do as they wish but that is not government.

“The Russian government has good reason to fear Western propaganda since we’ve made it clear we’d love to see a color revolution in Russia like the one we fomented in Ukraine.”

Do you think Ukrainians actually wanted to live like Russia? Anyone that even heard brief snippets of life in the west while living under that clownshow wanted to leave the first chance they got (like me).

People crave freedom and live more prosperously under it. Even the children of the wealthiest oligarchs do not want to live in Russia for that reason. It is a corrupt clownshow and every day is an f’n mess that requires you drown yourself in booze.

USA is not perfect but until you life in Russia, you cannot even begin to imagine the ridiculousness...

What’s the difference between their corrupt politician war pigs and ours

They have not used mail in vote and drop boxes, with the vote counted when received days after the election.

They do not have electronic voting machines which can be programmed to change the vote.

They do not have voting machines connected to the internet.

They do not have a water main break which causes a shut down and exit of one party's observers; then the reopening and pulling boxes of votes out and running votes through the machine multiple times.

Why, they are absolutely primitive.

T and TikTok are de facto agents of Russia/China.

RT is actually more objective than the US mainstream media and no different than the BBC in Britain or ABC in Australia.

Yes everything on the internet going into Russia is filtered by the state.

Then, why do videos exist on YouTube created and uploaded by Russians in Russia criticizing Putin and the Russian government? I've seen them. Don't tell me they don't exist.

How is the possible if dissent isn't allowed in Russia?

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/sep/02/thousands-protest-in-russia-against-plans-to-hike-retirement-age

Thousands of people across Russia joined protests on Sunday against government plans to raise the pension age, despite recent promises by President Vladimir Putin to soften the unpopular measure.

The protests show that the proposed policy remains a politically sensitive issue for the government despite concessions offered by Putin in a televised address on Wednesday. During the speech, Putin took personal responsibility for the reform for the first time and described it as a financial necessity.

About 9,000 people gathered about a mile and a half from the Kremlin, according to White Counter, an NGO that counts participants at rallies. Moscow police put the numbers at 6,000.

Many carried the red flags and banners of the principal organiser of the protest, the KPRF Communist party.

Like a 13% flat tax rate...Which Russia passed into law and conservatives can only dream of here?

No, Putin actually killed the opposition candidate

Even US intelligence now says Putin had nothing to do with Navalny's death.

I'm doing no more implying about the deaths of Esptein and those connected to Clinton scandals than you are about Putin and Russia.

The idea the Putin is a dictator is ludicrous. Biden is much closer to being one.

You're just repeating propaganda that can't be backed up be shred of proof.

Russia has been the ones taking over that country, not the United States.

Utter nonsense. The people in Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk, overwhelming voted for the President we fomented the illegal coup against. We installed a puppet government -- that pandered to the Bidens, Soros and our elite -- that went onto persecute and kill ethnic Russians in those regions.

The people of those regions had every right to their independence and/or to join the Russian Federation.

That we stuck our noses in Ukraine is sickening. Our meddling set off a civil war and resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians.

13% official tax. Try to open a business in Russia without the right connections and you will see how many more “taxes” appear before your eyes...

Youtube is not blocked entirely and public wifi is still legal as far as I know. There are still ways to post from Russia to outside platforms relatively anonymously.

However once anyone in Russia views a post, it is reviewed and blocked if does not meet their guidelines. So videos of dissent maybe visible to the outside but not to locals over “clearnet”.

What these exact guidelines are it is not known so I cannot say why certain posts are allowed while others are not.

I have visited since filters were enabled and seen this happen many times

An illegal coup fomented by us started a civil war and this war.

You're delusional if you don't realize this is a proxy war we wanted.
