I think you are referring to episodes where Detective Danny Reagan expresses sympathy for people who commit crime...Trying to "understand" why the other person committed a crime...I do not think that happened in every episode however...
As a rule, Danny Reagan only expressed sympathy for a criminal when the criminal was performing a public service by removing an even bigger criminal from the gene pool.
I'm complaining about the fact they always bash Catholics, especially the ones when they outright said Catholics are the bad guys, and Muslims are the victims. I know they think they like Catholics, but they bash them pretty good.
The ones were they really defend woke activists, including the fact that someone who faked a hate crime really was the good person.
The one saying drag queens are saints, and in general that LGBT people are always right/saints.
The fact that the daughter pretty much is proud to have a double standard about prosecuting women an men. The writers have been terrible, with her character becoming virtually insane. It's not necessarily political, but they have her contradict everything she has said earlier.
She tells her brothers she can't help them with prosecutions, because she follows the law, but once it's something she's into she does even more than she told them she can't do.
In a recent one, she was so angry because the feds were pressuring a witness to testify when they were threatened. This despite a long history of doing the same thing and worse. In fact, she had done it with the detective who works for her's daughter. But she acted like it was a line she would never cross. I think the writers have given up.
Do you remember the episode where a devout Catholic girl is murdered, and it turns out she was taking Arabic, had a Muslim boyfriend, and reverted to Islam. They take great pains to say that it is reverting. It turns out her father killed her because she converted. Basically the point is, that honor killing is among Catholics, but Muslims are all benevolent.
