I saw an article that said that Catholic Seminaries are turning out graduates who are more religiously conservative but still hold on to the teaching that celibacy means “no sex with women”.

AGREE.

This whole projected transformation of the Catholic Church was bound to come to an END.

Let those weirdos DIE and now we can reclaim our beautiful, Catholic Church.

I look forward to it.
If you believe the Apostles’ Creed...you are Catholic.

Catholics do not criticize other religions nor point out to them where they are wrong it is not in our dogma nor tenets to do that. There’s no reason for it

I get slammed on a regular basis on anticatholic FR

If they hate you, just remember Who they hated first.

That’s cute.

You have an opinion!

Thank you for expressing it.

Have a nice day.

As if they weren’t trying to ruin what Tradition built. As if they weren’t just waiting for us to die (or, who knows, maybe being more aggressive that merely waiting).

But we keep springing up, don’t we.

Within reasonable distance of my home are two Novus Ordo parishes, and a traditional latin order of monks, whose Masses are open to the public.

One of the NO parishes is “liberal”, the other about as traditional as one can get and still offer only the NO.

“Liberal” parish ==> almost exclusively old people

“Traditional/NO” Parish ==> old people, middle aged people, young families evenly mixed.

“The Monks” ==> mostly young families with a few old folks.

FWIW.

I am posting an opinion on an open thread as a Christian.

Simple as that.

You’re Christian? You follow Jesus?

Would Jesus try to put me down, put down the Catholic religion? That He founded?

Where is scripture dies it say Catholic religion is wrong, put down Catholics at will?

—> Would Jesus try to put me down, put down the Catholic religion?

I’m only pointing out that it is unbiblical for Christians.

—> That He founded?

Another opinion.

There’s no logic there

Perhaps that you can’t see it is the issue?

In either case, you will choose what you believe.

Encyclopedia Beitannica:
“As a branch of Christianity, Roman Catholicism can be traced to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ in Roman-occupied Jewish Palestine about 30 CE. According to Roman Catholic teaching, each of the sacraments was instituted by Christ himself. Roman Catholicism also holds that Jesus established his disciple St. Peter as the first pope of the nascent church (Matthew 16:18). Centuries of tradition, theological debates, and the wiles of history have shaped Roman Catholicism into what it is today.”

Yes. All kinds of syncretic pagan practices were added - many from Greek religion and some just made up.

But this is America. Believe and practice as you wish.

The progressive priests who dominated the U.S. church in the years after Vatican II are now in their 70s and 80s. Many are retired. Some are dead. Younger priests, surveys show, are far more conservative.

What a blessing - people need spiritual leaders tending the flock a lot more than they need left wing posers in Priest's clothing preaching global cooling, warming, WOKE BS, communism, and sexual weirdo crap...
