There are some conditions that cause excessive intolerance, and PEM (post exertional malaise) where the body runs down very quickly, and can’t recuperate like normal healthy people can, and if pushed too far, the body goes into shut down mode, and can die.

Maybe the child was obese because he had a condition like the above. It’s not a case of “being lazy”, it’s a case of the body not operating correctly, not replacing the atp which fuels the mitochondria to keep the body functioning normally- its akin to using a near dead battery which runs out quickly, but can only recharge back to about 1/4 of full- it keeps running out and crashing- and if pushed too much, it will stop working altogether-

At any rate, even if the kid didn’t have a condition like that, the father now,has to love with the fsct that he psuehd the kid way too far.
