No. Remakes pretty much always suck, and a remake of Putney Swope would end up all wokified, guaranteed.
One series is called Lovecraft Country. I've not seen it, but from the descriptions, it's about a black family in the 1950s who moves to a Lovecraftian small town. But instead of freakish fishmen (Shadow Over Innsmouth), the town is full of CREEPY WHITES!
Inspired by events in South Africa, and Chicago. Of course it depicts the perp’s in white face.
