Belinda, and the girls playing their own instruments,, whoever their manager was brilliant.
Mods pull if "too" controversial.
Still the only all-female band with a no. 1 album. (Bangles only made #2.)
The 80’s was the greatest generation of technically proficient songs.
The 70’s was the greatest generation of live performances, imo.
Jane was a cutie back in the day.
John Hughes picked this number as the lead-in to Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

We’ve got the beat was genius. any band going back to the beatles would have killed for this song. Belinda Carlise + cocaine = hotness! The time was ripe for the return of girl-bands
Suzanne Hoffs is 65 and still gorgeous.
One of their best along with Our Lips Are Sealed.
One of their best along with Our Lips Are Sealed.
One of the songs that helped to kill disco once and for all.
Punk rock through and through.
I’m not zeroing in on you, just the remark. I never understood why so many fans of popular music thought it would be necessary to “destroy” Disco. We are a humongous coutry. There is plenty of room for more than one kind of musical expression. I know for most folks, it was just easier to pick a side and defend your dance floor fiefdoms.
Nowadays, I dont think there are very many coast to coast music trends. Everything seems rather specialized and carefully curated by “trending topics”.
I saw The Bangles about 5-6 years ago at a smallish venue, and yes, she is.
Why do you keep adding “Mods pull if “too” controversial.”?
The mods will pull something with or without poster input.
Besides, none of the things I’ve seen you post is the least bit controversial — it’s all mainstream FR stuff.
You really don’t need to add that line.
I don’t even have to hear it, just the memory of the last note’s harmony gives me goosebumps!
A very talented group of musicians. Loved their stuff.
I like the 1960 Buick that they used to make the music video.
Another great girl band hit, Bananarama’s Cruel Summer:

Love the video at the end where they’re dancing with the bad guys.
Tne Bangles did a song in the 80’s called “Going Down To Liverpool”. In the video they’re in a car singing in the backseat looking hot and their driver is none other than Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock). Come to find out, Susanna Hoff grew up and was friends with Nimoy’s kids and spent times at their house all the time. Here’s the video.
Song sounds right out of the 60’s.
