As an addendum, when I speak of "rants," I mean any adrenalin-infused output, whether in writing or recorded speech. Adrenalin is much better than alcohol (which I don't do anymore).

I get the adrenalin flowing by stomping around and flailing my arms...and yelling about what I am writing.

I’ve heard one way is to just write down any thought that comes into your head. Even if it’s the same word repetitively.

I try not to think about the threads of thought already in play but to think of an entirely different situation similar to the theme. Tends to give creative answers that then naturally fit back into the original story.

Writer’s Block can be a ‘good thing’ if or when you’re going through bad stuff (like consistent and ongoing repairs on appliances, plumbing issues, ac issues, heater issues and car repair issues). Speaking from recent and current experience.
