I was at the Dept. Motor Vehicles yesterday (lucky me, right?), and, unsurprisingly, there was a black woman working one of the windows. She had a ghetto-fabulous, over-the-top manicure comparable to Miss Obama’s. What caused me to notice was white preppy middle-aged soccer mom at her window gush, “I just love your nails!” Sarcasm? I don’t think so. Sincerity? Maybe. Ass-kissing? Probably.
I think those nails are hideous myself! But it would not occur to me to worry about “what do men think?” before I got dressed or did my mani/Pedi.
that is just my opinion of course, before someone swoops in to tell me to go back to DU.
