The Lord’s Prayer in Latin I learned as an altar boy 60+ years ago.

**********************************************

When I saw foldie’s “challenge,” The Lord’s Prayer was my first, flashing memory of Latin. Only, I could not decide on the one-word parameter, so I avoided making a reply.

Thank you, Publius, for sharing❣️

I learned The Lord’s Prayer in Latin when I was a 9th-grader in PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL LATIN I back in 1973-74.

(Our very rural school consisted of grades 9-12 with a student population of about 550. Mr. Bolton💓 was our Latin teacher. When he retired at the end of that year, we no longer had the option of studying Latin as the foreign language teacher who was hired taught French and Spanish. More memories, but I’ll end my slide.)

I took 2 years of Latin in high school. I remember being told “silentium!” followed by my name. Many times.

Of course, Catholic school required lots of prayers in Latin.
