I remember dad driving us through forests in Arizona and the Ozarks back in 1957. Boring for as a ten year old kid we could not see the forests for the trees. Finally a break in the trees and we saw the beauty of each.

Try driving up to upper Maine from the lower coast.

On the other hand, I remember driving up to the Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon and no trees was just as bad as all trees. I think human beings cry out for visual change.
