Sorry Mairdie, I thought you were referring to the famous German optics manufacturer Zeiss located in Jena, Germany. In 1967 (the time-frame Mairdie referenced), Jena was located in East Germany.
Would be surprised to discover that a FReeper was seeking employment behind the Iron Curtain.

A bit confusing, I agree. I worked at Adler in Chicago and checked out ON a Zeiss. Only location I know about manufacture of Zeiss was in Germany. I DO have a booklet from that period I kept as a souvenir, so could look it up if anyone felt that crucial.
